Casino Royale had been hailed by critics as a return for Bond and an instant smash. Even though the new Bond flick did excellent business opening with $40 million, it did not take the number one spot. The number one spot went to Warner Brothers Happy Feet. Happy Feet managed to steal the top spot from Bond by $2 million. Over all it seems as though it was a good weekend for Hollywood with two movie grossing over $40 million.
Not a bad pay day.
Borat is still kicking box office ass and is getting closer to the coveted $100 million mark. The film has grossed over $130 million worldwide.
After this thing is done making money Mr. Cohen is going to be able to afford to buy a helicopter to take him to his yacht so that he can sail to his mansion on his own private island just so that he can swim in his pool made out of solid gold.
Guy is going to be rich.
Nothing else on the list is interesting enough to write about. The Departed is still in the top 10. Stranger than Fiction is still under performing. And Lets go to Prison bombed.
Sucks, I really like Bob Odenkirk and I hope he finds success one day. Just not this past weekend. |
